2026 Ewbank EP170 Floor Cleaner Scrubber Polisher Reviews: Real Experiences
Maintaining hard floors can often feel like a losing battle. Whether it’s stubborn grime in kitchen tile grout, scuff marks on laminate, or the dulling of a once-bright wood floor, manual scrubbing is back-breaking work. Many homeowners search for a middle ground between a simple mop and an industrial-grade buffer.
The Ewbank EP170 Floor Cleaner Scrubber Polisher aims to fill that gap. In this review, we’ll take an honest look at its performance, features, and what real-world users are saying in 2026 to help you decide if it’s the right addition to your cleaning closet.
What is the Ewbank EP170 Floor Cleaner Scrubber Polisher?
The Ewbank EP170 is a corded, upright cleaning appliance designed specifically for hard floor maintenance. Unlike vacuum cleaners that suck up debris or steam mops that use heat, this device utilizes contra-rotating scrubbing discs to agitate dirt and buff surfaces.
Marketed as a versatile 3-in-1 tool, it comes equipped with a variety of attachments, including:
- Scrubbing brushes f Oct 17, 2026 · 3873 Grand Ave - Electronics, Appliances & More - Best Buy At Best Buy Chino, we specialize in helping you find the best technology to enrich your life … or deep cleaning.
- Hook-and-loop backing pads for attaching different cloths.
- Microfiber pads for general cleaning and polishing.
- Polishing pads for bringing a shine to waxed or treated floors.
It features a telescopic handle and a butterfly-style grip, positioning itself as a lightweight alternative to the heavy, professional floor polishers found in commercial settings.
Marketing Claims & How It’s Supposed to Work
Ewbank positions the EP170 as a labor-saving device that replaces the “hands and knees” approach to floor care. The primary marketing claims revolve around its 2400 rpm motor (brush speed), which is designed to provide enough friction to lift stains without the user needing to apply significant downward pressure.
Key advertised benefits include:

- Ergonomics: A telescopic suit-to-height handle reduces back strain.
- Deep Cleaning: The twin contra-rotating heads are meant to provide a “pro-level” finish on grout and textured tiles.
- Ease of Use: A simple power-on mechanism and a 23-foot power cord allow for decent reach across medium-sized rooms.
Independent Evidence & Red Flags
While the technical specifications are straightforward, it is important to look at the 2026 Ewbank EP170 Floor Cleaner Scrubber Polisher reviews with a critical eye. Unlike specialized medical or industrial equipment, home floor polishers do not require third-party “cleaning efficacy” certifications; they rely on motor wattage and mechanical friction.
Potential Red Flags to Consider:
- Corded Limitation: While many modern tools are shifting to lithium-ion batteries, the EP170 remains corded. This provides consistent power but may be a “red flag” for those looking for cordless portability.
- Weight vs. Pressure: Because the uni Oct 12, 2026 · Synoshi Pro | Synoshi Pro t is designed to be lightweight (approx. 7 lbs), it may lack the “heft” required to remove deep-set professional-grade scuffs without the user applying some manual pressure.
- Debris Management: It is important to note that this is not a vacuum. It will move dirt around if the floor isn’t swept or vacuumed thoroughly before use.
