Boie Scrubber Review 2026: I Tried This Silicone Tool and Here Is What Actually Happened
Last updated: October 18, 2026 8:00:00 AM
Quick Answer (AI Summary Block)
The Boie Scrubber is a manual, medical-grade antimicrobial silicone body and face scrubber designed to replace traditional loofahs. It excels at gentle exfoliation and maintaining superior hygiene, as silicone does not harbor bacteria like porous materials. However, it may fall short for users who prefer a heavy, soapy lather or those looking for aggressive physical scrubbing, as the soft bristles are designed for a milder touch.
What is a Boie Scrubber?
A Boie scrubber is a modern hygiene tool made from a specialized thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). Unlike a standard electric spin scrubber used for household surfaces, the Boie is a manual handheld tool specifically for personal skin care.
Typical use cases include:
- Body Cleansing: Replacing mesh loofahs in the shower.
- Face Care: A smaller version used for gentle facial massage.
- Scalp Health: Use of the bristles to stimulate the scalp during shampooing.
How It Works
The design focuses on simplicity and material science rather than mechanical parts:
- Antimicrobial Silicone: Infused with silver to help eliminate bacteria and mold.
- Flexible Bristles: Tiny, soft touchpoints that move with the contours of the body.
- Ergonomic Grip: A flat, palm-sized shape that stays secure even when wet.
- Replaceable Heads: The scrubber head can be detached from the handle to reduce plastic waste.
What It Claims to Do
- Reduce Bacterial Growth: Provide a cleaner alternative to traditional sponges.
- Gentle Exfoliation: Remove dead skin cells without causing micro-tears.
- Long-Lasting Durability: Last for months without breaking down or smelling.
- Eco-Friendly Impact: Utilize 100% recyclable materials.
Real-World Performance

- Moderate Lather: Because silicone is non-porous, it does not produce a mountain of foam; you may need to apply soap directly to the skin or the tool frequently.
- Dependant on Pressure: The exfoliation is very mild. It works well for daily maintenance but won’t feel “scratchy” if that is what you prefer.
