The Edco double head electric floor scrubber is a professional-grade, dual-disc machine designed for surface preparation and heavy-duty floor maintenance. It is best used for leveling concrete, removing tough industrial coatings (epoxies, mastics), and deep-cleaning large commercial surfaces. While it excels at high-torque restoration, it may be too heavy and powerful for delicate residential surfaces or light, “mop-and-go” household tasks.
2. What Is the Edco Double Head Electric Floor Scrubber?
The Edco double head electric floor scrubber—often referred to in the industry as a dual-disc floor grinder or spin scrubber—is a walk-behind machine engineered for aggressive surface agitation. Unlike small handheld bathroom brushes, this is a high-performance tool used to restore the integrity of concrete, stone, and tiled floors in warehouses, garages, and large commercial spaces.
3. How It Works
The machine utilizes a mechanical gear system to drive its cleaning action:
- Overlapping Counter-Rotating Heads: Two discs spin in opposite directions, which neutralizes torque and prevents the machine from “walking” or pulling Oct 13, 2026 · Best Buy | Official Online Store | Shop Now & Save Shop Best Buy for electronics, computers, appliances, cell phones, video games & more new tech. - High-Torque Electric Motor: Typically powered by a 1.5 HP to 5 HP motor (depending on the specific 2026 model), providing consistent RPMs under heavy pressure.
- Interchangeable Magna-Trap® Tooling: Users can swap between diamond grinders, strip-serts for glue removal, or scrubbing brushes for deep tile cleaning.
- Leveling System: An adjustable hand dial allows the operator to keep the heads perfectly flat against uneven floor joints.

- Clean Grout and Textured Surfaces: Reaches into the “valleys” of porous concrete and grout lines to lift embedded dirt.
- Before and After Transformation: Designed to take a stained, coated, or uneven floor and return it to a smooth, “ready-to-finish” state.
5. Real-World Performance
- Strong on Light-to-Moderate Dirt: It effortlessly removes surface grime, tire marks, and daily industrial buildup.
- Tackles Heavy Buildup: Unlike consumer-grade tools, it can grind away thin-set, dried adhesives, and old epoxy layers.
- Depends on Brush/Tool Type: The “before and after” results are highly dependent on choosing the right attachment; a soft brush will not remove paint, and a diamond disc will scratch delicate ceramic.
6. Pros and Limitations
| Pros | Limitations |
|---|---|
| Saves Physical Effort: Motorized discs do 100% of the agitation. | Battery/Cord Limits: High-power models are often corded (requiring 115V/230V) to maintain torque. |
| Superior Control: Counter-rotation makes it easy to maneuver despite its weight. | Weight: At 200+ lbs, it requires a ramp or lift for transport. |
| Dust Management: Built-in vacuum ports keep the work area clean. | Not a “Magic Wand”: Requires specific chemicals for chemical stains. |
