In this review, we’ll dive into the performance, real-world durability, and whether this “As Seen on TV” favorite actually lives up to the hype or if it’s just another gadget for the junk drawer.
What Is the Horsepower Handheld Waterproof Power Scrubber?
The Horsepower Handheld Waterproof Power Scrubber is a cordless, rechargeable cleaning tool produced by BulbHead (often branded under the “Ruby” line). Unlike larger floor scrubbers that feature long extension poles, this version is a compact, palm-sized device designed for precision work.
It is marketed as a multi-su Oct 17, 2026 · 3873 Grand Ave - Electronics, Appliances & More - Best Buy At Best Buy Chino, we specialize in helping you find the best technology to enrich your life … rface solution for the kitchen, bathroom, and even outdoor areas like car rims or patio furniture. The standard kit typically includes the motorized handle and a set of five interchangeable brush heads designed to tackle different textures and surfaces. Its primary appeal lies in its portability and the promise of high-torque cleaning in a small package.
Marketing Claims & How It’s Supposed to Work
The manufacturer positions this tool as an “unstoppable force” against grime. Key advertised features include:
- High-Torque Performance: The brush heads rotate at approximately 350 RPM (revolutions per minute), which is intended to provide enough friction to lift dirt without the user needing to apply significant pressure.
- Waterproof Design: Rated for use in wet environments, it can be submerged in up to three feet of water, making it safe for cleaning inside full sinks or showers.
- Rechargeable Battery: It uses a lithium-ion battery (2000 mAh in the standard version, 2500 mAh in the “Gold” edition), offering between 60 to 100 minutes of continuous run time.
- Versatile Attachments: The kit usually comes with a flat brush for large surfaces, a pointed “cone” brush for corners, a microfiber polisher, a scouring sponge, and a steel wool attachment for heavy-duty kitchen messes.

Furthermore, some users have noted that the “Horsepower” name can be a bit of a marketing exaggeration. User Experience & Real-World Feedback
Real-world feedback from 2025 and 2026 suggests a divided but mostly satisfied user base, provided expectations are managed:
- The Positives: Users with limited mobility or arthritis frequently praise the tool. For those who find the repetitive motion of hand-scrubbing painful, the motorized rotation is a significant help. It is also highly effective for cleaning sliding door tracks and faucet bases where fingers can’t easily reach.
- The Negatives: Results vary based on the cleaning agent used. This is a mechanical scrubber, not a chemical miracle. If you are trying to remove ten-year-old calcium deposits with just water, you will likely be disappointed. Users also note that the charging port seal must be perfectly closed to maintain the waterproof integrity; if water gets into the USB-C port, the device may fail.
Ultimately, the consensus in many Horsepower Handheld Waterproof Power Scrubber reviews 2026 is that it works best as a maintenance tool rather than a tool for heavy restoration of neglected surfaces.

Safety Tips for Use:
- Avoid Delicate Surfaces: Do not use the steel wool or abrasive brush heads on painted surfaces, plastic screens, or high-polish finishes that may scratch.
- Battery Care: Charge the device fully before its first use. To maintain battery health, avoid letting it sit completely dead for months at a time.
- Chemical Synergy: Use the scrubber with a mild detergent or specialized cleaner (like a soap scum remover) to get the best results.
Conclusion
The Horsepower Handheld Waterproof Power Scrubber is a functional, mid-range cleaning aid that excels at “detailing” rather than “heavy demolition.” It won’t replace elbow grease for every single job, but it significantly reduces the physical strain of routine cleaning.
While the motor has its limits, the combination of a waterproof build and multiple attachments makes it a versatile addition to a modern cleaning kit. If you approach it with the understanding that it is a power-assisted brush rather than an industrial machine, you’ll likely find it a valuable time-saver.
